Mum of abducted eight-year-old fears attacker could strike again

THE mother of an eight-year-old girl who was abducted and assaulted fears the attacker will strike again.

She has made an emotional plea for information to find the man who snatched her daughter in Commercial Road, Bulwell, last November.

The youngster was badly bruised in the attack.

The mother, who cannot be named, said: "Finding the person who did this would mean we could relax knowing he's not out there hurting somebody else.

"We could get on with our lives and start being a family again.

"It makes it worse that he's still out there. When the children go out, I'm constantly worrying. I don't know who the man is so I worry he could approach my children again – I'm constantly on watch."

She said the family's lives had been "turned upside down" by the attack.

A 25-year-old man was charged over the assault, but no evidence was offered against him when he appeared at court this month.

Police have now released CCTV footage recorded around the time the girl was led to a secluded area of Pulley Park and attacked on November 23.

The footage shows images of men in similar clothing – but it is not known if they are the same person.

People are invited to view the footage at a mobile police unit in Bulwell town centre today, tomorrow afternoon and Saturday morning.

Detective Superintendent Adrian Pearson said: "I urge people to take a minute to look at the CCTV footage to see if they recognise themselves or someone they know."
