Two people die in blaze at Huthwaite house

TWO men died in a house fire in Huthwaite.

A man was brought out of the house, in Sutton Road, before fire crews arrived. But he couldn't be resuscitated.

The other man was taken out of the house by firefighters. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition, a dog is also believed to have died in the fire.

Firefighters from Ashfield and Mansfield were called out to the incident at about 8.15am.

An investigation will be held into the cause of the fire but a police spokeswoman said they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances at this stage.

She added: "The men were pronounced dead at the at the scene of the fire in Sutton Road shortly after it began around 8.15am.

"A police cordon remains in place at the property while the cause of the fire is investigated."

Sutton Road was closed but reopened at 10.40am. The victims have not yet been named.
