FORMER Forest goalkeeper Mark Crossley had an instant response to his appeal in the Nottingham Post.
Mark wanted help in tracing a photograph of the Forest Colts side that he played in, to use in his life story, which will hit the shops later this year.
The story in the Post was spotted by Dave and Doris Titterton, whose son Dean played for the same Colts side, and they contacted Mark straight away.
"At that time, our son Dean played for Forest but he was not retained," said his mum.
"A couple of weeks ago, we were sorting photos out and found the one we think he may be looking for.
"Dean worked on the youth development side at Forest for several years. He then went to work for Nottingham YMCA and went on to be promoted to assistant chief exec.
"Two years ago, he was appointed chief exec of North Tyneside YMCA. He lives in Whitley Bay and he has been married to Becky for 17 years and they have three daughters."
Crossley couldn't believe that his appeal got such a rapid response. "It shows the power of the Post," he said. "It only went in the paper on Wednesday and I got an e-mail straight away. I'm delighted. Dean has even managed to name most of the team but there are a couple we can't place.
Crossley's life story, Big Norm, Looking After No 1, is due out in a couple of months' time. A signed, hard-backed limited edition, priced 17.99, can be ordered in advance via www.bignorm.co.uk
