A NEW discount card scheme is launching next month in Gedling.
Get it in Gedling has been set up by the borough council to promote local businesses and encourage people to use them.
Gedling businesses can register for free on the website www.getitingedling.co.uk where they can promote themselves and their services, along with offers and discounts.
Discount cards are free and available for anyone who lives, works or likes visiting the borough.
Anyone who signs up will be able to access the offers that businesses promote on the site if they show their card when going into the registered business.
Councillor Alan Bexon, portfolio holder for development and enterprise at Gedling Borough Council, said the council had been encouraged by the positive response from local retailers to go ahead with the scheme.
He added: "We expect more shops to join the scheme over the coming months. This is a good example of the council and local businesses working together to support the local economy."
