Mansfield primary school head teacher suspended over allegations

A PRIMARY school head teacher has been suspended over "a number of allegations", education bosses have confirmed.

Chris Powell, the head teacher at Cuckney C of E Primary School, in Mansfield, was barred from his job last week, Notts County Council has revealed.

A statement from the authority said: "The head teacher at Cuckney C of E Primary School has been suspended from his post following a number of allegations. An investigation is underway and as such it would not be appropriate to make any further comment."

Notts police said it had not been involved and there is no police investigation in connection with the matter.

The school was rated 'good' in its latest inspection by Ofsted in March last year.
