My daughter and her friend should have got free entry to the Summer Sundae Festival, but I am left 230 out of pocket
Every year I take my children to the Summer Sundae Festival at Leicester De Montfort Hall. This year my eldest child was 16 and required an adult ticket. I could not afford that but saw an advert for litter pickers at the festival ? 18 hours' work for free entry, organised by Palentine Management and Training. I had to pay a 115 deposit via PayPal which would be returned as soon as the work was completed. I also reluctantly paid her friend's deposit as well. This was a financial stretch but I expected the money back in time for "return to school" purchases.
I had still not received the money a month after the festival ended, leaving me in considerable difficulty. Palentine repeatedly says the money is on the way. CF, Derby
Palentine's founder, Patrick Allen, says it is a newly formed company that has only recently set up a business bank account. That is odd because the website says he formed Palentine in the mid-eighties and the company has organised personnel for music events since 2005.
Allen says your PayPal deposit went into the new bank account and he intended returning the deposits through internet banking but the transaction failed as did his fax to the bank. He then found money had been unexpectedly taken out of the new bank account, leaving nothing to pay refunds. He is expecting money shortly but promised to pay you out of his personal bank account. You soon received 230.
