Scottish Power deleted our email from our internet account and then put us on a standard package
Like your correspondent, JS from Brighton (Money, 15 October), we too recently received a letter from Scottish Power saying our email address was not valid and our online account was being transferred to a standard package. The letter said we had already been contacted in writing. No initial letter had been received by us. We had operated this account online for some years. I phoned and managed to speak to customer services. All was attributed to an error ? "someone had been in the account and deleted the email address". LA, Shrewsbury
It seems this was not an isolated incident; in our experience, these rarely are. If you are a Scottish Power online customer it might be worth checking you are still on the cheapest online tariff.
We welcome letters but cannot answer individually. Email us at consumer.champions@guardian.co.uk or write to Brignall & King, Money, the Guardian, 90 York Way, London N1 9GU. Please include a daytime phone number
