In recent years television stations were violating the law by renting even two hours of time to political parties ahead of elections, domestic experts claim. The law on advertising clearly stipulates that a commercial cannot last more than twelve minutes on private televisions and six minutes on the RTS, the state television of Serbia. The same applies for the time during election campaign.
