'Humbled' Simon Cowell aims for the stars | Media Monkey

It was the most humble year of Simon Cowell's life. Not us saying it, but the great man himself, as he looks to relaunch ITV1's Britain's Got Talent after a 2011 to forget. "I got too cocky," said Cowell. "We went into 2011 thinking 'It's all going to be easy' and of course it wasn't. It was the year my ego was put in check." If only he'd read his entry in last year's Media Guardian 100, eh? Anyway, Cowell's plans for BGT are out of this world ? quite literally folks ? with the prospect of the talent show winner being blasted into space aboard Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic. "I'm being serious," Cowell told the Sun. "You could be the first singer or dog act, whatever, performing in space." Let's hope a dancing dog doesn't win though. The history of canines in space has not always been a happy one.
