A Saturday sweep as Clippers, Aeros, Captains, Kinston, Scrappers and Crushers win: Minor League Report

All of the Indians' minor-league clubs plus the independent Lake Erie Crushers get victories.

AAA Columbus Clippers

Clippers 7, Mud Hens 6 SS Luis Valbuena (.306), 3B Jared Goedert (.275) and DH Beau Mills (.261) all hit first-inning home runs as host Columbus topped Toledo in International League play. CF Grady Sizemore and 1B Matt LaPorta added RBI singles for the Clippers

AA Akron Aeros

Aeros 6, Senators 2 DH Chun Chen got his 70th RBI with a two-run single in the fifth and SS Juan Diaz cracked a three-run homer (his ninth) in the ninth as Akron beat host Harrisburg, (Pa.) in Eastern League play.

Advanced A Kinston Indians

Indians 9, Nationals 8 RF Bo Greenwell's sacrifice fly in the ninth brought home Jordan Casas with the winning run as Kinston withstood a four-run ninth inning rally by Potomac to win the Carolina League game in Woodbridge, Va. Indians 3B Adam Abraham had five RBI with an RBI single and grand slam.

A Lake County Captains

Captains 4, Hot Rods 3 CF LeVon Washington (.215) singled to left to drive in Brian Heere with the winning run and host Lake County topped Bowling Green, (Ky.) in Midwest League action. Joe Mahalic (1-5, 6.36) got the win.

A Mahoning Valley Scrappers

Scrappers 6, Jammers 2 Former St. Edward star DH Alex Lavisky (.204) had an RBI double and later doubled and scored, and 3B Evan Frazer (.283) smacked his first homer as Mahoning Valley won a New York-Penn League game in Jamestown, N.Y.

Independent Lake Erie Crushers

Crushers 4, Beach Bums 3 1B Chris Luick lined a two-run single to left field to give Lake Erie the winning margin in the Frontier League game in Traverse City, Mich.
