Egyptian gas pipeline to Israel and Jordan attacked for the 7th time

An Egyptian pipeline delivering gas to Israel and Jordan was hit by two blasts early Thursday, Egypt's security services and the official news agency conveyed. A first explosion reported around 1:00 am 40 kilometres west of the town of al-Arish in the north of the Sinai peninsula, a security source said.

A second blast took place near a pumping station in the same area, the official news agency MENA said, adding that the army was deploying in the region.

The pipeline had already been attacked six times since former president Hosni Mubarak was ousted in February.
